ANNOUNCING BIKELIGHTS 2018

‘FLYING CIRCUS!’ Saturday, October 13th 2018 The BikeLights team are now delighted to announce that our magical and much-loved illuminated bicycle-based parade for all the family will take place this year at 6.45pm on Saturday 13th October on the streets of Wadebridge. Now in our fifth year, as well as receiving hugely valued local support and beginning to establish some exciting new partnerships, BikeLights and Wadebridge Creative Hub are delighted to have gained Arts Council and FEAST funding to further develop the event’s artistic activity and reach as well as our community impact longer term. See our funders and sponsors page for more info on this! Meanwhile we are already planning our schools and community activity as well as our artist call-out, so keep checking this site and our Facebook and Twitter feeds for more info on things as we go. Posters and postcards will be on the way very soon once designer Jago Silver has worked his magic on our lovely theme, so look for those appearing in shops and schools in September… MORE SOON! _MGL1411 Happy New Year to all BikeLights enthusiasts! 2017 saw the largest number of entries yet – 674 with lots of gorgeous illuminated Minibeast bikes, Wadebridge Coasters’ 10 bike caterpillar, a musical rickshaw, a husky pulling a snow queen sled and a beautiful wheelbarrow dragonfly! Congratulations to Nanstallon, Port Isaac, Boscastle and Wadebridge Primary Academy on their fantastic school bikes. The BikeLights team wish to thank this year’s funders – St Breock REG Community Fund, Pengelly CE Fund and Middle Treworder Fund, and Feast. Thanks also to the Air Cadets for volunteer stewarding, and the team of street collectors mainly from Wadebridge Rotary Club. The funds collected will go towards next year’s event.
